1. Welcome and Opening of Fest and Summit

2. Inspiring Keynote Speaker

3. Innovation Expo (on-going throughout the day)

An interactive fair featuring young and budding entrepreneurs and innovators to showcase their venture ideas, work and services to the general public. The expo is on the lanai, a large open space where each exhibitor can hold their displays to visitors.

 

4. Dr. Entrepreneur Panel & Clinic. 10 am to 12 Noon

A panel of entrepreneurial support experts will speak on the “fatal flaws” of new businesses. Experts will be from the fields of accounting, banking, law, and business consulting. During the Q & A session, attendees will be given the opportunity to seek advice from the advisor.

LUNCH at the Cafeteria 12 Noon to 1 PM

5. Make Your Mark with a Ball: Short-listed Teams present their projects to Judges and Audience. 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

Decisions on winners will be announced at the closing celebration at 4 PM.

6. Five Habits of Highly Successful Entrepreneurs: How to Become an Entrepreneur in a Day.

Each session is 45 minutes hour long and each Habit will be a new step in the direction to becoming a mogul in the business world. The Habits will be conducted in separate venues, each representing a habit in the half day event, allowing for a self-guided experience. The content for the “habits” will be decided by experts who have taken the steps to build their empires and be successful in the business world today.

Habit 1: Where do I Begin? 10 am to 11 am

Starting a project is always the hardest part. This is a seminar about how to start up a company the right way and allow plenty of time for a Questions & Answers session.

Habit 2: Marketing for Success. 11 am to 12 Noon

Gaining a competitive edge in today’s markets can make or break a business. This forum

provides helpful hints about marketing strategies when promoting enterprises. This event is perfect for up and coming entrepreneurs who have products and services waiting for a

breakthrough into the market.

Habit 3: Your Team is the Weapon. 1-2 pm; 2-3 pm; 3-4 pm.

This session emphasizes the importance of the entrepreneurial team to the success of the new venture. Topics include how to form and organize the people for maximum effectiveness, and building and motivating the team.

Habit 4: Show me the Money: Getting Your Business Financed. 1-2 pm; 2-3 pm;

3-4pm.

This session is geared towards start-up companies and those entrepreneurs who are at the beginning stage of their careers. Money plays a key role in the entrepreneur’s day-to- day expenses and finding financial support is a key issue that troubles some. Topics could include the key ingredients to financial success in the entrepreneurial world.

Habit 5: Protect your Product! 1-2 pm; 2-3 pm; 3-4 pm.

Learn all about trademarks, property rights, intellectual property, and patents

Entrepreneurs have rights, too. This is an information session to provide the tools necessary to inform inventors and aspiring entrepreneurs about intellectual property and patent laws.

7. Closing Celebration – 4 pm to 6 pm

· Welcome and acknowledgements

· Prizes for all the challenges that took place during the week i.e. Make Your Mark with a Ball, STEM Jam.

· A celebrity performer/entrepreneur will speak and share his or her music.

Business is a place to not only make our lives easier, but also to make our world a better place. The celebrity speaker will talk about “doing well through doing good”. This means an entrepreneur will not only make money, but help improve the community around us.

Scholarships will be offered to students to attend the Hawaii Young Entrepreneurs Summit and Fest. They will receive a certificate of participation. The scholarship includes lunch and materials.
